Electronic Six-Speed Automatic Transmission
An electronically controlled transmission delivers power and torque to
all four wheels exactly as they need it. The new 6-speed automatic with
CommandShift™ adapts to your driving style and the conditions to
deliver smoothness and response.
Smooth and responsive transmission
CommandShift™ allows the driver to change gear manually. Or simply
leave it in automatic and let the computer controlled transmission do
it, continually adapting to conditions on-road or off.
The Sports transmission mode improves performance by offering a more sports-orientated
driving style delivering extra acceleration and exhilaration. Low range
can be selected on the move for off-road conditions and towing.
The supercharged version benefits form a positive torque throttle that
blips the engine automatically on the downshift – a fully automated
take on the ‘double declutching’ process used by drivers of
traditional sports cars.

Speed Sensitive Steering
The ZF Servotronic rack and pinion steering has speed sensitivity to allow
for easy manoeuvrability at low speed and superb stability at high speed
and is similar to the power steering used on many of the world’s
top sports cars. It provides the best steering feel in all conditions.
At low speed it is light and very direct and at high speed it is more
firmly weighted and less sensitive to aid stability.
New Dynamic Response active roll control
suspension system
The Dynamic Response system senses cornering forces and acts to optimise
body control and handling performance. It reduces roll and maximises comfort
and is complemented by a fully independent double wishbone system for
superior on-road dynamics.

Powerful engines for sports car performance
The Range Rover Sport is a
tourer that excels on and off the road. Range Rover Sport’s high
performance engines deliver a broad range of power- a gentle purr while
cruising to the delicious roar of the engines in full flight. Much of
the testing was done at the Nurburgring in Germany, the world’s
most demanding racetrack.
The Range Rover Sports engines are modified to allow the vehicle to wade
through rivers and climb or descend gradients of extraordinary steepness
when the car is driven off-road.
V8 Supercharged
The top model has an awesome 4.2 litre 385 bhp supercharged V8 engine
which is based on the engine developed for high performance Jaguar sports
cars. The engine is electronically limited to a top speed of 140mph and
can accelerate from 0-60mph in only 7.2 seconds.
Naturally Aspirated V8
The 4.4 litre naturally aspirated V8 produces 295 bhp. The smooth, elegant
power of this V8 engine offers excellent performance in town or on the
open road. It is one of the most refined engines available and is superb
for quietness and performance.
V6 Diesel
The new 2.7 litre V6 is an amazing technically advanced diesel engine
that combines progressive power and refinement. It is one of the newest
and most advanced diesel engines in the world delivering 190bhp. It features
common rail injection and higher injections pressures for more refinement,
lower emissions and better fuel consumption.
